‘Karuvarai’ (The Womb), deals with the plight of a pregnant woman in a middle class household, who is unable to have a second child due to the economical set back of her family. The story operates on the notion that despite abortion being tantamount to murder; their present situation leaves them no choice than to take that step. However, the idea that this pain can be avoided is also emphasised. A story inspired by true events.

Karuvarai is based on a true story
No matter how self-controlled a woman is, in the family life, The Womb reveals the extent to which male domination affects her.
Although pleasure is a common thing for both male and female, the film conveys the feeling of the woman carrying the baby in her womb and the extent to which the man’s indifference in this regard is due to the family environment destroying the developing fetus in the womb.
The biggest difference between other creatures and mankind is knowledge and planning with it. It is also said here that women experience greater misery than men due to failure in that planning.
The film shows that the environment in which our forefathers raised seven or eight children has completely changed and today the economic environment is the barrier to having a second child.
In many cases, men are unable to realize the mood and health of women. In the most subtle, fashionable way, this film highlights the fact that even when the woman tries to express herself, the man is not interested in understanding it
